Oftentimes in beauty, collaboration proves to be far better than competition. During the second half of 2024, several names in the industry came together to create collaborative products that portrayed their similar values and ambitions. What followed was a plethora of intriguing outcomes, from marmalade-inspired cologne to melted-before-lit candles. Elsewhere while some were collaborating, others were crafting limited-edition offerings, hoping to capture consumer interest with a “buy before it’s gone” approach. BeautyMatter’s editorial team outlines the collaborations, collections, and limited editions that stood out to us in the second half of 2024.“The second half of the year was a great one for cinema, and naturally, beauty collaborations followed suit of film launches. The Jo Malone x Paddington Bear collaboration was perfectly timed to ramp up excitement for Paddington in Peru, and in my opinion was executed perfectly. I love that these two quintessentially British names came together to create something that perfectly captured both brands. The partnership also stood out as it aligned with the growing trend of food being used in both product development and marketing this year. Then came Beekman 1802 x Wicked, which hit the nail on the head for me. The entire collection not only looked beautiful and perfectly captured both characters from the film, the products within also worked wonders for troubled winter skin (the scents were a treat too). Huda Beauty’s Icy Nude Collection marked a great end to the brand's annual 18-well palettes. The payoff of each shade was extremely impressive, and the colorways were absolutely gorgeous.
